Molino Sima is one of the companies of excellence in the Emilia-Romagna Food Valley that are visiting Japan this week on the occasion of the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World.

molino

“Our mill has always had an international vocation,” comments Giuseppe Ciani, Director of Molino Sima, ”here in Japan we are presenting a country with a deep tradition and culture of agribusiness as an important part of a system, that of Emilia-Romagna, which knows how to offer high quality, healthy, sustainable and safe food. In fact, as of today, Emilia-Romagna is the second largest Italian region in terms of exports to Japan, with a 23.4 percent share and more than 1,800 exporting companies out of a national total of about 8 billion euros.

Among the main topics touched upon during the meetings held in several Japanese metropolises, from Tokyo to Osaka, there was much talk of organic farming, cooperation, thanks also to the presence of Legacoop Emilia-Romagna. A way of doing business that can “contribute to promoting development on a human scale, responsible towards the environment of the community, inspired by principles of mutuality and solidarity.”

mission

An institutional mission, organized by the Region with the presence of President Stefano Bonaccini and Regional Councillor for Agriculture and Agribusiness Alessio Mammi who explains:

We need to make stronger the concept of food as an economic and cultural value that expresses its own identity, with its own soul and history, and as our PDOs and PGIs are. For us, promotion remains central. The opportunity for Italian Cuisine to become a UNESCO World Heritage Site is another important piece to guarantee the activities of promotion and cultural knowledge that Emilia-Romagna brings to the world.
